A MOVEMENT WITH IMPACT
REFLECT FORWARD is a joint-movement between racism education company One Love Australia and the Australian sports industry. It’s about starting an ongoing conversation about racism in sport, and working towards eliminating it at all levels throughout Australia.
It’s backed by athletes, national sporting organisations and players’ associations who want to commit to making meaningful change in eliminating racism in Australia. Many campaigns or initiatives have preceded this movement, they’ve focused on awareness and education - we go one step further by building measurable impact into our long term model that is aimed at meeting people where they’re at in their racism education journey.

It can be uncomfortable to talk about racist beliefs and actions that hurt people’s social, emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing. But experiencing racism is far from comfortable – and it is something that 1 in 5 people in Australia have faced. Conversation is one of the most powerful tools that our society has to create an equitable world – specifically, one free from racism.

Kyah Simon
SOCCER
Matildas and Tottenham Hotspur star Kyah Simon has joined the anti-racism movement Reflect Forward as an ambassador after a partnership was secured between the initiative, Professional Footballers Australia (PFA), and the leading anti-racism education charity in the United Kingdom, Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC).

He was one of the early contributors that helped shape what Reflect Forward would be from the players point of view. As a part of his role he has been actively recruiting Australian cricketers to participate and use their platform in promoting a more inclusive, educated and equal Australia. He sees an Australia free of racism where everyone has an equal opportunity to participate.
